Macro / Street & Portrait / Creative / Photographic Discussion / Coffee & Cake Collective
FWP members are far too active to just leave their cameras sat on shelves in between Friday meetings.
This has led to the emergence of 'Special Interest Groups', run by dedicated members and open to anyone within the FWP membership wishing to join in. The current regular groups are:
Macro (Facebook group): For those who like to look at the world a little closer
Street & Portrait (Facebook group): From 'everyday candid' to 'studio posed'
Creative (Facebook group + Zoom): Beyond the conventional and the rules
Photographic Discussion (Zoom): Focus on the work from a photographer of interest
Coffee & Cake Collective (IRL): Monthly social 'in real life' photographic outing
The Macro, Street & Portrait, and Creative Facebook groups operate similar to the 'main' FWP Members Facebook group – they are private groups that require joining in order to participate in discussion and the sharing of images.
The Zoom-based groups (Creative + Photographic Discussion) are held on specified Monday evenings from 7pm and split in two hourly parts – Photographic Discussion first, followed by a Creative group members' showcase.
Invitations to the Zoom meetings are done via the 'Events' feature on the main FWP Members Facebook group.
Away from online, the Coffee & Cake Collective meets once a month (second Thursday). Each outing is planned at a different location for a lighthearted wander, taking photos and catching up with fellow FWP folk. Details of the meetings (and invites) can be found listed on the FWP Members Facebook group's 'Events' feature.
