Visit to Dorchester Deferred from an icy evening in March, a small group of us at last very much enjoyed a visit to Dorchester Camera Club in their strange but splendid "Hall of the Mountain King" in Poundbury. Penny Piddock and her Dorchester members were very hospitable, a warm and appreciative audience, and they make a really good cup of tea! Sandy Whitton gave a fascinating presentation about astro-photography, Alan Denison explained his movement from geometric, architectural photography to dancers and the female form - with elegant examples of both genres. After the break, Andrew Washington, David Chedgy and Bill Aven showed prints which demonstrated their different, eclectic approaches to photography, and their skill. David concluded the evening with a riff of enthusiasm for the old Polaroids. All in all, they did us proud - thanks, guys!
