This week's meeting....
.... is the Annual General Meeting and 2018 -19 prize-giving. We shall be reviewing what I think has been a vintage year for the Club, looking forward to next season, and enjoying a glass of wine and a nibble or two together. Not to be missed! The Big Silver Cup.... ..... for the Best of the Best print, was awarded to Loveday Powell for her lovely portrait of Anika. Runners-up were Deanne Lewis's Warnscale Bothy and Andrew Washington's About to Pounce. Judge Eddy Lane gave us a great evening, commenting on 100 or so images, and then, with the short-list, inviting photographers present to talk about their images. He was impressed by the high standard shown. Data Protection Friday is the deadline, so this is by way of a last warning to you if you have not yet returned the form! I am attaching the form again to this e-mail, and blank forms will be available at the Club on Friday. If you are struggling to fill the form in online or to print it, you can always just send me an e-mail ([email protected]) confirming your name, address, phone numbers and e-mail address and authorising us to store and use the information. After 25th, I won't be able to contact you until I've heard from you. Visit to Mere Down Falconry Sunday 3rd June 2018 at 10 am. The Falconry’s address is: Manor Farm, Mere, BA12 6HR. In the centre of Mere, almost opposite the George Inn, turn northwards into a narrow road (Manor Road) between Lloyds Bank and an antique shop. Follow this road over the A303 until you reach the Mere Down Falconry sign outside the last farm on the right. Turn in through large galvanised gates and drive through the farmyard to the parking area. Please NB, the turning into Manor Road in the centre of Mere is sharp and the road is very narrow: take care! Signs will be up to help to direct you. If you get lost, please call 07749 478041 (Andrew) or 07802 760681 (Rosemary). The George Inn and the Walnut Tree are possible places for lunch afterwards, though on a Sunday in June booking is probably essential. The cost per person will be £8 if there are more than 20 of us, £10 for fewer than 20. See you on Friday!
